Responsibilities

  • Architecting & Building: You'll design cloud architectures and actively contribute to development, writing foundational code, establishing integrations, and building microservices.
  • Code Quality & Optimization: You'll lead code reviews, define engineering standards, and refactor our cloud infrastructure for performance and scale.
  • Guiding the Team: You’ll guide development teams through technical implementations, contribute to Agile ceremonies, and provide architectural direction across internal projects.
  • Technical Leadership: You’ll serve as a technical advisor and engineering lead across multiple development workstreams.
  • Tackling the Hard Stuff: You'll help clear technical roadblocks, debugging system interactions, and architecting solutions for specific engineering problems.
  • Mentorship: You’ll mentor engineers across various projects to elevate our technical execution, promote best practices, and foster team growth.
  • Technical Documentation: You’ll create clear architectural documentation and internal content for Valere’s engineering team.

Qualifications

  • Cloud & Serverless Knowledge: You have hands-on expertise in serverless development (specifically API Gateway, Lambda, S3, SNS, SQS, and CloudFront), managing AWS environments, and implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
  • Development Fundamentals: You aren't just an architect; you are a capable developer. You have hands-on experience building applications and are comfortable jumping into the codebase to write, test, and deploy code.
  • DevOps Chops: You bring experience with DevOps automation, including knowledge of containerization, API management, and multi-cloud solutions.
  • Problem Solving: You demonstrate critical thinking across technical challenges. You proactively identify and mitigate architectural bottlenecks and system risks.
  • Technical Alignment: You build trust with engineering teams and technical stakeholders through transparency and reliable delivery. You know how to align dev teams around a single technical vision.
  • Calm Under Pressure: You remain composed during technical outages or unexpected system behaviors. You know how to guide cross-functional dev teams through incident resolutions with clear next steps.
  • Great Communication: You have the ability to clearly communicate architectural decisions and technical objectives to the engineering team.
