You will be responsible for coordinating technology programs, including planning facilitation, governance, and thorough tracking. This role enables teams to execute in high coordination and synchronization while streamlining their pipeline of work to deliver software with high productivity, security, and quality. You will work with Product Managers, Operations, and Engineers to support the definition of plans, capacity needs, budget requirements, governance, risk management, and tracking to deliver the best technical solutions that meet deadlines at scale.
This is a role for an active and well-experienced Technology Program Director, who will work with stakeholders on programs objectives and KPI management. The Technology Program Director plays a key role in the success of the technology department by leading the coordination of programs and creating the tools and solutions for Tribes to build and deliver. You will engage with engineers, and create a state of the art program management organization that will create, launch and improve technology products that help Bitso make crypto useful.
**Technology Department**
The Technology Department is made of Tribes who contain security, architecture, operations, infrastructure, and engineering responsibilities. This role will report to the Head of Engineering and work with Tribe VPs of Engineering to manage and facilitate the delivery of major business initiatives. The Technology Program Director may have additional Technical Program Managers to handle the workload, while working in a matrix model with all Tribe stakeholders. A successful Technology Program Director is a person with good communication skills and relationships with key stakeholders, delivering plans that stick to commitments, enabling outstanding execution and delivery, while enabling tracking, reporting and risk management.
**Your impact**:
- Coordinate the development of capacity and budget plans for initiatives across the organization
- Hire and supervise new program managers for projects
- Report detailed status updates to leadership and executive team
- Work with leadership on communicating strategic goals and objectives for programs
- Escalate problems between program teams and other internal stakeholders
- Coordinate with product managers, squad leads, and other stakeholders to create detailed implementation plans. This includes milestones risks
- Provide processes for monitoring performance and collaborating with program teams to determine ways to improve
- Have a clear, detailed roadmap to manage all of the moving parts—and a documented plan to mitigate any risks along the way
- Acting as the bridge between strategy and execution, a program director is responsible for overseeing the successful planning and monitoring the execution of programs (and associated projects) that positively impact innovation, production, and revenue goals
- Lead large group discussions to answer questions and remedy complaints
- Create and nurture effective communication within the organization
- Build a strong team through open communication and by collaborating on decision-making responsibilities
- Initiate and set goals for programs based on the organization's strategic objectives
- Plan programs from start to finish, including identifying processes, deadlines and milestones
- Plan program work-breakdown and strategies for the most efficient flows and delivery of value with the Tribes
- Work with leaders for continued improvements on flows, relations, dependencies with other Tribes, gain prioritization through value-added arguments and data, and escalate blockers as they appear
- Provide guidance through Bitso values when there is conflict, threat, or attrition
- Provider of context when there are changes and the voice of reason when there is debate at the committees
- Challenge the status-quo, seeking customer value at all times, by delivering innovative, secured and quality software solutions.
- Run performance reviews, assign promotions, making sure success planning is a fact
**Who you are**:
- 10 years related experience, with progressive responsibility in program project management
- PgMP - PMI certification
- Proven track record as a successful Technology Program Director in the last 5 years
- Experience managing teams through long and complex technology program implementations
- Knowledge of current program management methods and best practices
- Experience managing staff and tracking budgets for multiple programs and projects
- Excellent data analysis and reporting skills
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills
- Strategic mindset with close attention to short-term and tactical deliverables
- Experience on owning and facilitating senior leadership committees
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Good Interpersonal skills
- Knows how to motivate teams through practical challenges
- Ability to make decisions quickly
