Accounting and Finance AnalystThe Accounting and Finance Analyst is crucial to the financial and operational health of Metal Toad. In order to ensure a healthy financial future, the Analyst must have an excellent understanding of accounting and finance operations including business fundamentals such as AR, AP, journal entries and reporting. This position reports directly to the Manager - Finance and Accounting of Metal Toad.**RESPONSIBILITIES**General**- Maintain accounting and finance best practices.- Maintain a positive and respectful tone in all interactions.- Always be willing to help.**Key Responsibilities**:- _Accounting Management and Maintenance_-- Assist with the recording of all revenue and expenses in accordance with US GAAP standards- Maintain a clear easy-to-read general ledger in Quickbooks Online- Assist Finance Manager with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing procedures.- Update and maintain spreadsheets in Google Sheets- _Payroll_- Collect payroll data in a timely manner to assist in payroll processing- Track special pay and calculate commission commissions- _Cash & Risk Management_- Every week, maintain a 13 week Rolling Cash Flow Forecast tied to actual and projected revenue and expenses.- Monitor bank account activity and balances.- _Accounts Payable_-- Enter all bills received into QBO, ensuring compliance with Metal Toad’s terms.- Prepare bills list on a weekly basis for payment approval and processing.- Enter payments into ACH system in the bank and then update relevant records (Google Sheets, QBO)- Alert management of pending payments in the bank that need to be approved.- _Reporting_- Ensure the integrity of weekly reports data- Maintain the Weekly Rolling 13 Weekly Cash Flow Forecast.- _Operations_- Coordinate with production to ensure data is entered correctly into production systems (e.g. Float).- Oversee data hygiene across production, operations and finance systems.**QUALIFICATIONS**Required**- Believe in the company’s core values - _Respect, Curiosity, Helpfulness, Creating Great Experiences, and Providing Value._- Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience that established solid understanding of accounting, payroll, and/or fiscal record-keeping or equivalent in education.- Minimum of 1 year of Quickbooks Online experience.- Proficiency in spreadsheet (Excel and Google). Requires strong interpersonal skills, including ability to maintain composure under pressure, interact routinely with others face-to-face, by Zoom, and through other communication methods using active listening skills and excellent teamwork.- Must be reliable in meeting exacting or highly accurate work results, strict deadlines, and prompt and friendly service delivery.- Requires working with others in a group or team and the ability to remain flexible despite interruptions and/or routine changes to priorities and/or job duties.- English Proficiency- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance - or equivalent experience.**Preferences**- Modeling and database software skills are a huge plus.- Prior experience working with a professional services related software development organization or similar- Prior experience working at an accounting firm**WHAT WE DO**Metal Toad is a software agency committed to providing high quality engineering solutions.
