gener8tor is seeking a Lightning Rounds Coordinator to support their Lightning Rounds (startup and investor matchmaking) events. This position will work on the logistics and recruitment necessary to make the events successful. This position will support the Director of Lightning Rounds to ensure multiple successful events per year.

gener8tor is seeking a Lightning Rounds Coordinator to support their Lightning Rounds (startup and investor matchmaking) events. This position will work on the logistics and recruitment necessary to make the events successful. This position will support the Director of Lightning Rounds to ensure multiple successful events per year.
We are initially posting this role as an independent contractor position. However, depending on business needs and the right candidate, we are open to structuring it as a full-time or part-time employment role from the outset through an Employer of Record (such as Deel). We're flexible and happy to explore the arrangement that works best based on your location, preferences, and our mutual goals.

Responsibilities
This is an independent contractor position. As such, the ideal candidate will be a self-directed professional capable of managing their own time, tools, and methods to deliver agreed-upon outcomes. We expect you to bring your own best practices and operate with a high degree of autonomy while aligning with project timelines and the following key performance goals.

• Recruitment and Matchmaking
  • Proactively source, filter, and send one-on-one emails to hundreds of high quality startups and investors per Lightning Rounds event, ensuring a strong pool of high-quality participants.
  • Drive startup and investor signups to consistently meet or exceed matchmaking targets, ensuring investor meeting slots are fully and effectively utilized.
  • Review startup profiles and investor theses to design curated matches that maximize the quality and relevance of event meetings.
• Logistics and Communications
  • Manage the logistics of each Lightning Rounds event, including backend Airtable configuration, communications with startups and investors, coordination with gener8tor staff to run the event.
  • Provide lead-up and day-of support to deliver smooth event execution and an excellent experience for both startups and investors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the inbox, ensuring timely, clear, and professional communication with participants. Lead email Q&A with startups and investors as they need support leading up to the event.
• Support and Collaboration
  • Support the Director of Lightning Rounds on outreach and logistical efforts and progress.
  • Support gener8tor teammates across multiple programs, including gBETA, Investment Accelerator, Skills, etc.
    

Requirements

• Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn Airtable.
• Comfort with digital communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Slack, Gmail) for external and internal coordination.
• Attention to detail and persistence in managing high-volume outreach and administrative tasks. Stamina to do repetitive, manual tasks at times.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to align startup applicants with relevant investor focus areas and recommend curated matches.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Clear and professional written communication skills for engaging with startups, investors, and colleagues.
• Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and solutions-oriented in high-pressure, fast-paced event environments
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly independent environment and juggle multiple ongoing projects, responsibilities and tasks.
• A customer-service mindset, with professionalism and empathy when engaging with startups and investors.
• Interest in or familiarity with the startup and venture capital ecosystem.
• Prior experience in program coordination or operations is a plus.
