Regional Product Management Manager

Overview

Hitachi Energy is seeking candidates to work as a part of the Hub Marketing and Sales or Product Line in Power Transformers. The Regional Product Manager (RPM) will work directly with the Hub Marketing and Sales Manager for Power Transformer or eventually for the PT Product Line Manager and will report functionally to the Global Product Manager (GPM).

As a Regional Product Manager, you will play a vital role in providing the Voice of the Customer in the region with structured proposals to Global Product Managers and lead the market introduction in the Regions and the implementation of the mid-long term strategy and competitiveness programs. You will be accountable for gathering information about market drivers, new products, applications and technical requirements and competitors portfolio analysis. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will collaborate with BDMs, M&S, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Project/Contract management departments to ensure the seamless integration of products into the production line and meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide input to Global Product Managers on MRS and business cases for R&D initiatives.
• Provide feedback to Global Product Managers on existing and new product performance.
• Lead the market introduction of new products in coordination with Hub M&S, Hub Application Engineering. Create and adapt marketing information to the respective market/region based on the Market Introduction Plan and in alignment with the GPMs and GPMM.
• Identify co-creation/partnership opportunities.
• Monitor regional product requirements (changes in regulations, standards, legislations, etc.).
• Conduct competitor benchmarking (market intelligence, new releases).
• Establish product standardization guidelines and protocols to ensure consistency and efficiency in manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for component standardization, cost reduction, and process optimization.
• Define key regional market events and support the GPM and GPMM in decisions to attend those events.

Mid-Long-term regional strategy

• Implement the global portfolio strategy in the region.
• Monitor investments for regional offerings in alignment with Global Product Group strategy.
• Support and drive Transfer of Technology activities in the region according to the GPG strategy. Influence future designs/investments for regional offerings in alignment with Global Product Group strategy and market needs. Support the Global Product Manager in defining the technical implications of initiatives for global and regional competitiveness programs.

Competitiveness Programs

• Drive the implementation and business cases for DtV projects, Competitiveness Programs and new regional R&D initiatives.
• Enhance competitiveness and market knowledge.

Quality Assurance and HSE

• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize product design for manufacturability and scalability.
• Provide guidance and support to manufacturing teams during transition and ramp-up, addressing product-related challenges.
• Monitor Regional GPG Quality KPIs and support quality RCA and corrective action planning.
• Monitor GPG regional HSE KPIs and support HSE program implementation in the region per GPG and BU strategy.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

Your Background

• MSc or BSc Engineering degree.
• Proven experience in product management, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of product development processes, manufacturing techniques, and quality standards.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and meet milestones. Structured and analytical thinking.
• Technical knowledge of the power transformers portfolio with international experience across different customers and product standards. Intercultural sensitivity.
• Networking and leadership with good communication and presentation skills.
