Role Purpose: Direct key global revenue management projects and initiatives to the hotel community through partnership with operations partners and Revenue Management. Manage development, implementation and assessment of revenue-related strategies for hotels in an assigned region, encompassing pricing, demand analysis, yield management, market segmentation, business mix optimization, selling strategies and tactics in line with company policies and industry best practices. Provide leadership support to regional teams and hotels, and direct support to Company Managed Hotels (CMH) to drive performance metrics. Drive the development, implementation and operation of strategic and tactical programs to enhance revenue management services and deliver competitive advantage. Responsible for performance and business trend analysis, budgeting, field-level training, and deployment of Company resources to achieve strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate communication and training of Americas revenue management projects and initiatives to the hotel community through area teams and other operations partners.
- Provide feedback to global revenue management as the voice of the hotel community to ensure successful adoption of initiatives.
- Drive implementation of brand and regional pricing, yield, selling strategies and revenue management best practices; investigate and communicate new ways to capture optimal revenue potentials.
- Direct and support hotels on revenue maximization through the use of Company systems and best practices (HOLIDEX Plus, PERFORM/Price Optimization, GDS interfaces, Distribution and Relationship Marketing interfaces, property management systems, etc.).
- Analyze and review revenue management strategies and tactics for the brand and region with focus on key markets to develop strategies for increasing revenues and profits.
- Coach and develop HPS team members and Revenue Management Services personnel; serve as advisor to area managers and properties to meet goals; guide direct reports in problem identification and resolution.
- Collaborate with internal departments to escalate issues or trends and drive resolution; accompany direct reports on hotel visits as needed for training and effective problem analysis.
- Develop and implement innovative revenue performance strategies to assist regional teams in assigned markets; present at leadership and regional meetings; operate within budget and resources; establish performance standards and procedures.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Business, Statistics, Marketing, Finance or a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 8-10 years of progressive experience in hotel operations management, revenue management, or field consulting; proficiency with central reservations systems and revenue management systems (preferably HOLIDEX Plus and PERFORM); knowledge of hotel pricing concepts, yield management, and selling strategies.
- Technical Skills: Project management experience; strong verbal and written communication; ability to build and manage relationships with leadership and field teams; conflict management/negotiation skills; knowledge of market trends, revenue opportunities, and hotel pricing concepts; experience in industry training; analytical skills for strategic decision making; attention to detail and multitasking ability; knowledge of IHG brand, systems and training programs is helpful; strong presentation skills for various audiences.
