Responsibilities Operate and enhance existing runbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot complex production issues and drive long-term reliability improvements. Build automation, tooling, and monitoring to remove manual effort across the database stack. Investigate incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and contribute to preventive engineering solutions. Learn PostgreSQL and progressively take ownership of database operational responsibilities with mentorship from senior DBREs. Participate in the PostgreSQL on‑call rotation once sufficient experience and proficiency are gained. Minimum Qualifications Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 5+ years of experience operating and maintaining large‑scale SaaS platforms. Strong understanding of Linux fundamentals. Hands‑on experience building Docker images for production use. Experience running workloads on Kubernetes or another container‑orchestration platform. Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts; familiarity with tools such as Jenkins or ArgoCD is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.); PostgreSQL experience preferred but not required. Strong interest in learning PostgreSQL internals and advanced database concepts. Experience building automation or tooling in Python and/or Go. Experience with public cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, GCP, Azure). What We Offer Opportunities to work on complex, large‑scale database systems.
