Summary
The Payroll Operations Team is responsible for end-to-end payroll service delivery in Deel’s Global Payroll and Employer of Record businesses. This includes supporting clients with local payroll expertise and managing accurate and timely end-to-end payroll processing.
- Ensure accurate and timely execution of payroll in your region, and in other trained countries
- Prepare and reconcile internal payroll reports, ensuring compliance with local tax authorities
- Own all critical local payroll and HR processes, including setting up involuntary deductions, supporting onboardings and offboardings of employees on record in your region
- Schedule payroll expenses collections and reconcile collections to expenses
- Assess and improve rapid growth processes and procedures, ensuring compliance
- Stay informed of relevant local regulatory and policy changes, communicating and establishing key changes across teams
- Work cross-functionally to provide expertise on local payroll and HR matters in your region
- Answer complex payroll and HR related questions from employees and clients in your region
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution
- 4+ years of payroll and HR experience with experience in relevant country
- Strong working knowledge of local regulations and policies related to payroll and HR
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines timely and accurately
- Strong verbal and written skills to connect with clients and align with various stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills, explaining complex issues at an understandable level
- Advanced knowledge of local payroll software solutions
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
- Strong proficiency in English
- Experience managing technology and external payroll providers is an advantage
- Experience with implementation of new payrolls on an industry-recognized payroll solution is preferred
- Experience in multiple country jurisdictions is an advantage
- Experience with multiple payroll technologies is an advantage
- Processing of all payrolls (Advance, Monthly, Vacation, Termination, etc.)
- Processing of occasional payroll routines (allowances, sales commission, awards, gratuities, bonuses, stock options, etc.)
- Manual and batch processing of employee movements (Admission, Leave, Returns, Movements, etc.)
- Issuance and verification of taxes related to payroll
- Calculation of expatriate payroll, including payments in two countries
- Validation and transmission of statutory filings
- Annual payroll routines
- Customer service as a payroll specialist for clarifying calculations and payroll routines
- Verification of calculations, reports, documents and files generated for customers
- Generate and maintain internal control reports, documents and files
- Generate and maintain payroll calendars
- Identify and implement processes and services improvements
- Participate in special internal projects
- Perform administrative duties
- Follow and act on the escalation matrix
- Keep reports and performance metrics up to date
- Represent the best interests of the company
