The Engineering Program Manager (EPM) will have complete responsibility for engineering deliverables of locomotive programs ranging from requisitions through NPI (new product introduction). The EPM is responsible to run the engineering scope of the designated projects constantly monitoring the engineering metrics like cost, schedule, and quality during design and validation phases. The EPM communicates to all stakeholders the status, hold team reviews and take actions to ensure the program will meet the requirements and targets. You will interface to all different engineering groups, supply chain, and occasionally external customers. Experience in systems engineering, engineering tollgates, engineering validation test and locomotive manufaturing is highly preferred.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
- As the Program Manager you will be responsible for collecting and understanding requirements presented at Tollgate and evaluating the budget, creating detailed engineering spend profile
- Working with engineers and PEs to ensure design reviews and action items required for program completion are addressed.
- Drive completion of all engineering deliverables like design reviews, drawings and validation plans, as needed for program schedule.
- Communicate progress to all levels of the organization
- Chair core team meetings with all engineering stakeholders
- Mentor and guide engineers on program team as it relates to program deliverables.
- Update engineering score cards and documents while ensurign compliance with engineering tollgate processes.
