Specialist Tax Attorney

Specialist Tax Attorney reporting to the Legal Tax Manager.
**Main Responsibilities**
1. Coordinate all Tax related litigation in Brazil in support to the Legal Tax Manager, determining legal strategies with external law firms on relevant cases, support law firms with the gathering of evidences and interface with outside counsel, Accounting and External Auditors on risk assessment and corresponding contingency reserves, assuring tax litigation is managed appropriately;
2. Provide legal advice to the business, including partnering with Finance and Tax teams and other business functions in advising on tax planning or tax compliance initiatives designed by Finance and Tax Departments;
3. Follow up and review new legislation and court precedents that could affect the business from a tax perspective;
4. Capture opportunities to mitigate risks thru legal actions;
5. Coordination of renewals of negative debt certificates.
**Education and Certifications**
1. Fully qualified lawyer (licensed to practice law in Brazil) with outstanding academic and legal qualifications;
2. Practical experience in Brazilian tax law related matters, including administrative and judicial disputes, litigation management system and accruals process;
3. Fluent in English and Portuguese (Spanish is a plus);
4. Great judgment;
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
6. Focus on collaboration and in delivering results;
7. Capacity to lead projects and coordinate external advisors;
9. Post-Graduation in Tax / Litigation;
8. Uncompromised ethics and integrity;
10. Legal experience preferable at multinational company
