**What is the role?**
The Commercial Operator is part of the Commercial Americas Gas Operations Team responsible for the day-to-day operational management of Shell Energy Americas (SEAm) gas activities in Brazil. The scheduler will provide scheduling and operations support to various business desks across South America.
The primary purpose is to carryout daily natural gas scheduling and operational duties for SEAm which includes but is not limited to the following accountabilities:
- Coordinate the daily product movement for SEAm and agency customers including equity gas production, purchases, sales, transportation, storage on both interstate and intrastate pipelines via electronic bulletin boards while ensuring contract obligations and regulatory requirements are met
- Report physical pipeline positions to SEAm trading groups
- Schedule accurate nominations meeting all deadlines throughout the day
- Gain Awareness regarding the optimization of transport and delivery requirements to monetize value for the trade desk
- Optimization of transport and delivery requirements to monetize value for the trade desk through accurate timely nominations (1-shot noms), segmentation and meter bounces
- Awareness of pipeline’s tariff general terms and conditions
- Monitor and report pipeline operational information to trading to maximize trading opportunities
- Manage and balance pipeline and customer accounts- Maintains a thorough understanding of all contractual, license and regulatory requirements
- Aware of the various balancing mechanisms in use across South America regarding imbalance tolerances and the financial cash out risks for shippers and traders
- Input operational information daily into SEAm internal gas management system (Endur) for accurate P&L and a clean hand off at month end
- Become proficient in the knowledge and use of SEAm internal gas management system to troubleshoot issues effectively from deal entry to invoicing
- Foster and maintain strong working relationships with teammates
- Build and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Provide back up support to other schedulers within own team
- Perform monthly close activities, if applicable, on top 10 pipelines to ensure timely and accurate reporting
**What we need from you**
- Must have legal authorization to work in the Brazil on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
- Bachelor's degree is advantageous.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in products operations, trading, shipping, and/or logistics is a must.
- Highly motivated and possess strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills in order to recognize and solve problems quickly
- Fluent in English and Portuguese
- Exposure to products traded and the logístical networks utilized by STUSCO
- Exhibit the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet critical deadlines.
- Sound critical thinking skills to make risk-based and well-reasoned decisions with uncertain or incomplete information while in the presence of material financial risk and operational stress.
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills in support of internal/external stakeholder management
