Volunteer CFO
to join our leadership team and help shape the financial strategy that will enable us to expand our impact and secure sustainable funding.

Role Overview

The Volunteer CFO will oversee the organization's financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. This role is critical to ensuring transparency, efficiency, and credibility with donors, partners, and stakeholders. The CFO will work closely with the Executive Director and Board to design sustainable financial models and strengthen the NGO's fundraising capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Oversee bookkeeping, accounting, and compliance with local regulations.
  • Support grant applications and donor reporting with accurate financial data.
  • Advise the Board and Executive Director on financial strategy and resource allocation.
  • Build financial dashboards and impact metrics for internal and external reporting.
  • Ensure the organization maintains a reputation of financial transparency and accountability.

Qualifications

  • Background in finance, accounting, or economics (CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred but not required).
  • Proven experience in financial management, ideally in the non-profit or social impact sector.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with fundraising models, donor relations, and grant management a plus.
  • Commitment to the mission of strengthening governance and social impact.
