How you will create an impact Main activities Handle major Casualty and Environmental Claims from initial notification through to final settlement within an agreed level of authority and service standards; Oversee work of staffs, provide support to the team, organize and aim to improve procedures; Review / input reserves and continually evaluating reserves during life of the claim to ensure accuracy of financial exposure. Identify and make reserve recommendations to management on claims evaluated greater than assigned authority; Document and organize all cases assigned; Engage coverage counsel and loss adjusters, and any other external resources as well as supervise the work of vendors, including lawyers, accountants, experts and loss adjusters; Engage with internal and external customers on complex technical issues and participation in external customer claim file reviews and audits when required. Provide reports of claims to management, actuarial and underwriters when required; Work closely with underwriters and distribution to develop a thorough understanding of the business and contribute to “best practice” overall. What you’ll need to succeed Bachelor’s degree Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills Strong technical knowledge in Casualty and Environmental Claims and capability to manage and oversee assigned claims Depth experience of major / complex claims handling Knowledge of self-insured retentions, reinsurance and coinsurance claims handling Excellent communication skills (verbal / written) and strong negotiation skills Ability to identify and report performance issues to the management and the team Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at every level both internally & externally (underwriting, actuaries, finance, reinsurance and other stakeholders on claim trends) Strong knowledge of legal, regulatory and litigation norms on claims area Ability to collaborate and successfully manage work when working at home or in the office in a flexible work environment Advanced English Skills Ready to take your career to the next level?
