AIG manages claims using a wealth of technical and market knowledge about risks, business practices, and the ever-evolving legal and regulatory environment.- About the role- What you need to know:
- To handle Property claims that have the highest level of complexity and have a moderate to higher monetary exposure to the company. This may include coverage determinations, investigating the loss, conducting an independent assessment as to the company's exposure, participation in developing and implementing the most cost effective and timely resolution of the claim. Ensuring mitigation of indemnity and expense exposure while communicating developments and outcomes as necessary to all key internal and external stakeholders. May also include cross-border claims handling, including awareness of legal and regulatory systems outside local jurisdiction.- Responsibilities:
- Managing intermediate to major losses enquiry; coverage determination, quantum analysis and legal liability assessment, where appropriate. Prepares and evaluates investigation strategies, which identify critical issues affecting liability, causation and damages. Appropriately considers opportunities for third part contribution. Makes independent evaluation of liability and damages. Analyses exposures and tradeoffs in according to the policy conditions;
- Create a local and international losses reports, including multinational accounts procedures;
- Contribute to maintenance of best practice procedures for Property Major Loss claims, consistent with global best practice;
- Provide management information to be used within senior stakeholder meetings and business processes;
- Represent AIG Property claims expertise on external technical panels and / or industry forums;
- Frequent interface with the Head Office in according to the local and regional guidelines/authorities;
- Ensuring effective vendor management;
- Strive for continuous improvement on claim file handling with feedback and support through the Quality Assurance Review processes;
- Support a client review in Profit Center meetings;
- Obtain all data and information relevant for a diligent underwriting;
- A technical referral for colleagues within the Complex or Express teams.
- What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Strong written & verbal communication;
- Strong presentation skills
- ability to manage & prioritize workload and diary management.
- Experienced in stakeholder management, both internal (underwriting, distribution and external (brokers, major account clients)
- Advanced English skills to develop international reports
- Experience with Reinsurance is important
- Strong knowledge in technical claims topics (Property, Energy and SME Risks)
- Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation, including coinsurance and reinsurance claims.
- Ability in negotiation, mediation and alternative dispute resolution;
- Experience in effectively following up on recommendations from technical claims audits and continuous claim handling improvement
