Overview

ACES Program Manager for Middle Mile is the guardian of quality control at Amazon's ATS/Middle Mile. Responsible for the adoption and continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures and for cataloging and sharing SME-level process knowledge with stakeholders. This role collaborates with Operations, Learning, Finance, and other supporting functions to identify defects and opportunities, measure performance, and track changes. The program owner sets the roadmap, planning cycles, strategy, and structure for the ACES Middle Mile program and works with peers in other Transportation ACES units to ensure scalable, end-to-end processes and quality control.

Key responsibilities
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all operational processes
  • Lead process integration efforts across the network and with carriers
  • Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives, Kaizens, Root Cause Analysis, and related activities
  • Own and manage change at a granular level
  • Perform audits to ensure continuous SOP adoption and to eliminate defects and deviations
  • Collaborate with teams at AMZL and Sort Center ACES to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure delivery of the best possible service to customers
  • Create and own the program's strategy and planning cycles, including financial and organizational aspects
A day in the life

You will work closely with all Ops teams to provide support and expertise, identifying bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement. Teams include:

  • Station Ops
  • Last Mile team
  • Sort Center team
  • Learning
  • Finance
  • HR
  • Loss Prevention

You will also partner with counterparts in other geographies to benchmark processes and ensure conformity with Amazon Standard Work.

About the team

The Amazon Customer Excellence System (ACES) team focuses on quality control and continuous improvement by monitoring metrics, raising performance standards, and supporting peers with subject matter expertise. The team also leads the adoption of new technology and procedures.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Advanced English level
  • Prior experience in an Operations environment
  • Prior experience with continuous improvement (e.g., Lean Six Sigma or equivalent)
  • Advanced skills in Project/Program Management
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree, or MBA in supply chain, logistics, or operations
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (e.g., Black Belt)
  • Experience managing direct or indirect reports/stakeholders
