**Job Overview**:The Buyer is responsible for purchasing raw materials, components, and finished goods to meet customer order requirements efficiently.**Key Responsibilities**:- **Manage Procurement Activities (50%)**Oversee order placement, obtain supplier quotes, and review proposals with internal teams. Monitor supplier performance and initiate corrective actions as needed.- **Lead Supply Chain Improvements (10%)**Identify and actively participate in supply chain and supplier productivity improvements.- **Supplier Selection & Performance (10%)**Participate in supplier selection, monitor performance, and drive corrective actions in areas like on-time delivery and commercial compliance.- **Maintain Product Costing (10%)**Ensure accurate costing for materials and components. Oversee supplier compliance with commercial, quality, and legal standards.- **Troubleshoot Supply Problems (10%)**Analyze supply issues that impact on-time delivery and collaborate on solutions.- **Issue Purchase Orders (10%)**Manage purchase orders for MRO/Indirect material as needed.**Supervision**:- Works independently on routine tasks and receives general instructions on new assignments.**Qualifications**:- **Education & Experience**Associates degree preferred with 1-3 years of experience in operations planning or purchasing.- **Certifications**APICS or other planning certification preferred.
