Head of Technology Operations

We are hiring for our client who are a cutting-edge start-up, incubating new platforms set to revolutionise the industry across Sportsbook, Data & AI, Player Engagement, and Payments.
**About the Role**
We are looking for a **Head of TechOps** to lead and scale our technical operations as we ramp up our preparation for our various product launches. This is a pivotal role offering the opportunity to build and lead the TechOps function from the ground up, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security across our infrastructure, and growing with the company as we scale up.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Infrastructure & Cloud Strategy**: Collaborate with our external partners, and build the internal capability to oversee a hybrid cloud architecture based on **AWS, and on-premise** elements, for optimal performance and cost efficiency.
- **IT & Security**: Maintain a secure, scalable IT environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements supporting both business and technology users.
- **DevOps & Automation**: Lead the consolidation of CI/CD processes, containerisation, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) across the different teams into a uniform, scalable structure to drive efficiency and reliability.
- **Networking & NOC**: Ensure high-performance, low-latency network operations with 24/7 monitoring, issue detection, and rapid response strategies.
- **ServiceOps & Incident Management**: Develop and implement ITSM processes to provide seamless operational support across internal teams and external partners.
- **Monitoring & Reliability Engineering**: Define and implement observability, logging, and alerting frameworks to maintain system health and mitigate risks proactively.
- **Vendor & Stakeholder Management**: Collaborate with cloud providers, hosting partners, and technology vendors to drive innovation, ensure SLAs, and optimize costs.
**Key Qualifications & Experience**
- **Proven experience in iGaming and/or Sportsbook operations** is essential.
- Extensive hands-on experience with **AWS**—multi-region, high-availability, scaling strategies, and security best practices.
- Strong expertise in **DevOps, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Terragrunt), Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools** (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Coralogix, etc.).
- Deep understanding of **networking, security, and high-availability architectures**.
- Experience with **NOC operations** and building real-time monitoring solutions for mission-critical systems.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience recruiting and mentoring a team.
- Basic understanding of **gaming regulatory environments**, including IT compliance, security, and audit requirements. Prior experience with PCI-DSS will be considered an asset.
