Senior Accountant, Accounting & Reporting - LATAMResponsibilities The AMS Global Accounting team is part of the Accounting, Reporting and Central Financial Planning & Analysis team. Our team is handling the entire statutory accounting process for Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Mexico, including advertising and e-commerce activities. We cover the general accounting functions in the USA, Canada and Latin America. We are the owners of general ledger accounting and oversee the month end closing process. We work across various accounting projects and provide technical support. We also support the year end reporting and audit inquiries as required. Enhance the quality and accuracy of local accounting books. Assist in executing local audits and reporting in Latin America. Assist in the daily activities of accounting financial operations. Assist in new accounting analysis on new product launching/accounting change. Establish strong internal controls over accounting operations including system configuration. Research accounting implications (in collaboration with TikTok’s accounting headquarter team in Hong Kong) from changes in the business, stay up-to-date on changes in industry trends and use the information to inform internal decisions. Partner with the global accounting/reporting teams to operationalize the accounting relating to complex transactions. Partner with the local accounting firms to finish local bookkeeping operations. Coordinate with external and internal auditors to ensure timely completion of audit requests, and aid in the research and analysis of audit issues raised. Basic knowledge of local tax rules and its accounting implications. Work closely with reporting/tax teams to ensure compliance with the local GAAP, IFRS and internal policies through effective communications and globally coordinated execution. Also, able to translate/apply GAAP/international policies to operationalize complex accounting issues, including assessing the design and/or effectiveness of internal controls. Stay up-to-date with relevant accounting standards, and assess operational implications for any relevant changes. Work closely with all areas of accounting and cross-functional teams such as AR, AP, Tax, Payroll, Marketing, MSO, SMB and e-Commerce. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, related field or 5+ years of financial statements auditing, financial accounting or similar experience. Strong knowledge of Financial reporting and local filing requirements in LATAM. System implementation experience and analytical experience, including experience in Excel. Applicable in-house TMT industry experience, experience working with business partners and engineers to effect changes. Experience in optimizing or re-designing existing processes resulting from business needs. Working proficiency in Portuguese and English is required as the role will be working with systems, reading technical documents and communicating with Latin American and Non-Latin American markets in Portuguese and English. CRC or equivalent certification required. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with local GAAP and IFRS. Experience working with LATAM countries, familiar with LATAM accounting policies. Experience with Oracle. Spanish proficiency is preferred as this role will support the Latin American Markets. Tech industry experience.
