Senior Accountant, Accounting & Reporting - LATAM Team Introduction: The AMS Global Accounting team is part of the Accounting, Reporting and Central Financial Planning & Analysis team. We handle the entire statutory accounting process for Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico, as well as general ledger accounting and month end closing for the USA, Canada, and Latin America. We support year‑end reporting and audit inquiries. Responsibilities Enhance the quality and accuracy of local accounting books. Assist in executing local audits and reporting in Latin America. Assist in the daily activities of accounting financial operations. Assist in new accounting analysis for new product launches/accounting changes. Establish strong internal controls over accounting operations, including system configuration. Research accounting implications (in collaboration with TikTok’s accounting headquarters team in Hong Kong) from changes in the business, stay up‑to‑date on industry trends, and use the information to inform internal decisions. Partner with the global accounting/reporting teams to operationalize accounting related to complex transactions. Partner with local accounting firms to finalize local bookkeeping operations. Coordinate with external and internal auditors to ensure timely completion of audit requests and to aid in the research and analysis of audit issues raised. Basic knowledge of local tax rules and its accounting implications. Work closely with reporting/tax teams to ensure compliance with local GAAP, IFRS and internal policies through effective communication and globally coordinated execution; translate/applies GAAP/international policies to operationalize complex accounting issues, including assessing the design and/or effectiveness of internal controls. Stay up‑to‑date with relevant accounting standards and assess operational implications of any relevant changes. Work closely with all areas of accounting and cross‑functional teams such as AR, AP, Tax, Payroll, Marketing, MSO, SMB and e‑Commerce. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or 5+ years of financial statements auditing/financial accounting or similar experience. Strong knowledge of financial reporting and local filing requirements in LATAM. System implementation experience and analytical experience, including Excel. Applicable in‑house TMT industry experience; experience working with business partners and engineers to effect changes. Experience in optimizing or re‑designing existing processes to meet business needs. CRC or equivalent certification required. High written, oral and listening proficiency in Portuguese and English (required for daily communication with global teams); medium proficiency in Spanish (needed for frequent communication with stakeholders and internal clients and report writing for Latin American Markets). Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with local GAAP and IFRS. Experience working with LATAM countries and familiar with LATAM accounting policies. Experience with Oracle. Tech industry experience.
