Lead Developer - Python role at Thoughtworks . Lead Developers act as the primary point of contact for our clients, ensuring that teams are successful in their delivery. In this role, you will bring a strategic mindset to projects and collaborate with clients to bring a technical vision to life, balancing high-level thinking with hands-on work.

Responsibilities

• You will champion and adopt best practices like writing clean and reusable code using TDD, pair programming and design patterns.
• You will oversee or take part in the entire cycle of software consulting and delivery from ideation to production and evolution.
• You will use and advocate for continuous delivery practices to deliver high-quality software and value to end customers early.
• You will design solutions and choose technologies that solve clients’ problems within constraints, making pragmatic tradeoffs.
• You will collaborate with a variety of teammates to build features, design concepts and interactive prototypes, ensuring best practices and UX specifications are embedded.
• You will apply the latest technology thinking from our Technology Radar to solve client problems.
• You will apply a variety of languages and tools to your work and continue to code alongside developers; you will not be post-technical in this role.
• You will efficiently utilize and champion DevSecOps tools and practices to build and deploy software, advocating DevOps culture and shifting security left in development.
• You will cultivate Thoughtworker growth and development by encouraging feedback and fostering an inclusive, supportive team culture.

Job Qualifications Technical Skills

• An advanced English level is required.
• You are well-versed in Python and comfortable with the latest Object-Oriented technology.
• You must have experience with APIs and microservices in Python.
• You must have experience with relational databases, GitHub CI/CD and Docker.
• You must have experience with IaC, Terraform.
• You have led software development teams using Agile, Lean and/or Continuous delivery.
• Knowledge of delivery approaches such as TDD, continuous integration, pairing and infrastructure automation.
• Bonus points if you have knowledge of cloud technology such as AWS, Docker or Kubernetes.
• You enjoy continuously learning and improving, whether through functional programming paradigms, event-driven architecture, platform engineering or other approaches.
• Terraform and Docker would be mainly used to support the development and deployment of Python services.
