The Opportunity: Hitachi Energy is seeking candidates to work as a part of the Hub Marketing and Sales or Product Line in Power Transformers. The Regional Product Manager (RPM) will work directly with the Hub Marketing and Sales Manager for Power Transformer or eventually for the PT Product Line Manager and will report functionally to the Global Product Manager (GPM).
As a Regional Product Manager, you will play a vital role in providing the Voice of the Customer in the region with structured proposals to Global Product Managers and lead the market introduction in the Regions and the implementation of the mid-long term strategy and competitiveness programs. You will be accountable for gathering the information about Market drivers, new products, applications and technical requirements and Competitors portfolio analysis. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will collaborate with BDMs, M&S, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Project/Contract management departments to ensure the seamless integration of products into the production line and meet customer requirements.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide the Voice of the Customer in the region with structured proposals to Global Product Managers and lead the market introduction in the Regions; implement the mid-long term strategy and competitiveness programs.
- Gather information on market drivers, new products, applications, and technical requirements; conduct competitors portfolio analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (BDMs, M&S, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Project/Contract management) to ensure seamless integration of products into the production line and meet customer requirements.
- Lead market introduction of new products in coordination with Hub M&S and Hub Application Engineering; adapt marketing information to the respective market/region according to the Market Introduction Plan and align with GPMs and GPMM.
- Identify co-creation/partnership opportunities; monitor regional product requirements (regulations, standards, legislation); perform competitor benchmarking.
- Establish product standardization guidelines and protocols to ensure consistency and efficiency in manufacturing; identify opportunities for component standardization, cost reduction, and process optimization.
- Define key regional market events and support GPM/GPMM decisions on attendance.
- Implement mid-long-term strategy in the region; monitor investments in alignment with Global Product Group strategy; support ToT Transfer of Technology activities; influence future designs/investments for regional offerings; define technical implications with the GPM and GPMM.
- Drive competitiveness programs and new regional R&D initiatives; enhance market knowledge and performance.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to optimize product design for manufacturability and scalability; support ramp-up and address product-related challenges; monitor quality KPIs and participate in RCA and corrective actions; support HSE program implementation and compliance with regulations and guidelines.
Your Background:
- – MSc or BSc Engineering degree.
- – Proven experience in product management, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- – Strong understanding of product development processes, manufacturing techniques, and quality standards.
- – Excellent project management skills, ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and meet milestones; structured and analytical thinking.
- – Technical knowledge of the power transformers portfolio with international experience in different customers and product standards; intercultural sensitivity.
- – Networking and leadership with good communication and presentation skills
