Job Description:

The Medical Information Specialist is a key role within our Contact Center, responsible for providing medical and safety information to external customers while adhering to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and client policies.

This position plays a critical role in the collection and documentation of adverse events, special situation events, and product complaints. It requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.

Essential Functions Include:
  • Respond to unsolicited customer requests for medical and safety information received via telephone, website/email, letter, fax, and scientific meetings on behalf of our clients.
  • Provide labeled and unlabeled medical/safety information responses in accordance with regulatory requirements and client policies.
  • Accurately identify, document, and report adverse events, pregnancy reports, special situation events, and product complaints in a clear and concise manner per government regulations and company procedures.
  • Ensure tasks are completed within documented deadlines and maintain quality in all areas of the job, including performing quality checks.
  • Formulate and provide accurate responses utilizing approved labeling and company standard responses, published literature, and other data. Assist with writing custom medical information responses utilizing this data.
  • Log all enquiries handled in an accurate, comprehensive, and timely fashion into Inquiry Handling Systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Nursing degree (RN/BS/BA/MS) is mandatory.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofreading, professional telephone etiquette, and empathetic customer service skills.
  • Ability to write in a fluent and grammatically correct manner in English.
  • Mother tongue in Brazilian Portuguese.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Strong cognitive abilities, including verbal reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical ability.
