The underlying motivation is to both avert ecological catastrophe and to restore humanity's love for and relationship with nature.Earthshot is building two products that enable its vision: LandOS and Biome. LandOS is a platform for enabling landowners to envision and manifest the regeneration of land they have stewardship over. Our intention is to build a product that inspires our customers to be bold, to delight and engage them while they envision the future possibilities of the land in ways never possible before. Biome is our Unity app that collects nature observations in the most accurate, fun and engaging way using the smartphone's neural engine, camera, and augmented reality capabilities. The data collected is used to power both fundamental ecological research as well as to underpin our LandOS system for envisioning and manifesting land restoration.**The Role**The Carbon Projects Lead works with the Science, Operations and Development Teams to identify, plan, design, implement and monitor multi-benefit Afforestation, Reforestation and Revegetation (ARR), Reduced Emission for Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) and other Nature Based Solutions (NBS) in Brazil. The Carbon Project Lead develops both partner-led and Earthshot-led NBS projects throughout Brazil.**Essential Functions**:- Direct all aspects of multidisciplinary, complex large-scale NBS projects, including project origination, planning, design, permitting, budgeting, subcontracting and client relationships.- Build and manage a diverse NBS project portfolio capable of delivering large volumes of carbon credits and high-impact social and environmental co-benefits.- Develop and maintain productive partnerships with all project stakeholders including conservation organizations; research scientists; contractors; and local, state and federal government agencies to advance projects and Earthshot Labs' mission.- Train, supervise, and develop staff as a supervisor and recognized leader in the organization. Identify and develop new projects, programs, and partnerships; successfully and regularly bring in new projects conceptualized with these partners.- A deep love for nature and desire to help build a more integrated future for humanity within it**Responsibilities**:- Manage project through to successful completion focusing on project origination and financing, followed by project certification, coordinating, and Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV).- Build and lead a team supporting project financing, design, permitting, and MRV for a portfolio of NBS projects throughout Brazil with the support of Earthshots core team and tech products. Frequently make decisions based on analysis, expert input, dynamic information and context.- Design and implement multi-stakeholder input processes for project development.- Contribute to regional planning efforts.- Monitor, oversee and report strategic initiative progress to ensure alignment with goals and objectives of the organization.- Represent Earthshot Labs before the public, elected officials, agencies, stakeholders, and non- profits to generate support for Earthshot Labs programs.- Collaborate with departments and demonstrate strong commitment and enthusiasm to carry out Earthshot Labs mission.- Enjoy working outdoors with diverse people and organizations to get things done.- Communicate clearly via written, spoken and graphical means in English.- Participate with keen interest in staff retention and recruitment.- MA/PhD/MBA/MS degree and at least five (5) years' experience in NBS project development, emphasizing restoration, forestry, agriculture management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.- Demonstrated experience influencing, developing and implementing projects, including managing finances and coordinating work to meet deadlines.**Location**:Must be based in Brazil, but can work remotely if based in Brazil.**Benefits and Perks**:Being on the Earthshot team offers a range of benefits including, a competitive salary, flexible PTO (and we truly encourage the team to take time away), 100% cost coverage for employees dental and vision, and 80% cost coverage for employees and dependents medical insurance.- Earthshot Labs is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
