**EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS**
You should be eager to:
- Develop robust and intuitive cloud native software
- Document, test, deploy, operate, and maintain software
- Deploy software in a highly distributed Kubernetes environment and on the SAP Business Technology Platform
- Interact with various stakeholders
- Use and adapt open-source Neural Machine Translation toolkits
You will get the chance to gain or improve your expertise in:
- Supporting productive software and customers
- Neural networks and Neural Machine Translation in an industry setting
- Working in a team that uses agile development methods and continuous integration
- Translation processes and tools
**EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES**
Required skills (must have)
- Degree of a university or a university of applied sciences. Preferred field(s) of study: Computer Science or Computational Linguistics with technical focus.
- Excellent proven programming skills in Java
- Understanding of industry standard web frameworks and their respective concepts for Java (e.g., Spring Boot)
- Experience in the development of cloud-ready, multi-threaded software in distributed environments
- Experience in DevOps methodologies and deployment principles for securely running on Kubernetes
- Familiarity with agile development, continuous delivery, and quality engineering.
- Flexible team player with excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to efficiently master complex processes. Very organized with high attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and to work on multiple tasks.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English, German is a plus.
Preferably you bring along knowledge/skills in one or more of the following areas:
- Programming experience in Python and C++
- Knowledge of neural machine translation (NMT) and machine learning in general
- Experience with NMT toolkits or deep learning frameworks (e.g., Tensorflow, (Py)Torch,)
- A passion for language technology
