Purpose
The purpose of the NDE Technician role is to carry out offshore TSC Subsea inspection activities at sites in Brazil and internationally, ensuring all qualifications and competencies are current and inspection equipment is fully operational and properly prepared for deployment. This includes verifying that all necessary spare parts are included in the field kit, integrating subsea inspection tools with ROV systems, collecting inspection data offshore, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of the data collected.
**Responsibilities**:
- Required to assist Technical Coordinator NDE, NDE Technicians, NDE Specialists and Technical Leads in day-to-day activities.
- Assisting with client enquiries, organization and execution of jobs following work instructions.
- Assist on inspection campaigns and lead shifts within your field of expertise - ACFM, ART, PAUT
- Preparing equipment, maintenance and QHSE documentation.
- To train and qualify in Standard and Non-Standard NDT disciplines.
- Travel as part of a team, to be self-sufficient and organized in pre-job preparation, execution and post job activities including reporting and job file completion
- Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment
- Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems of the Company.
- Eliminate waste of whatever form, suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment
- Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment
Qualifications & requirements
- ISO 9712 certification on at least one NDE inspection technique applicable to TSC Subsea, such as ACFM, UT or PAUT.
- Continue to gain experience and qualifications in other Non-Standard qualifications as determined by Technical Coordinator NDE.
- Must be proficient in spoken and written English
- Have the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations
- Computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and 3D packages (e.g., CAD)
- Previous experience or qualifications in technical/industrial discipline and/or experience with standard and non-standard NDT techniques is desirable
Skillset
- Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and standards
- Interpretation of technical documentation and inspection data
- Reporting and documentation of inspection results
- Use of workshop tools and basic fabrication (desirable)
- Willingness to travel offshore and internationally
