About the Role:

As the Alcoa Poços de Caldas Operations Director, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and directing all aspects of the company's operations based on sales/profitability and other goals and objectives established by the Brazil Operations RVP.

You will assist the RVP in developing the plant's overall business objectives and strategic plans

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Establish operating policies and procedures and evaluate operations results;
  • Own and drive an overall vision for the plant at all levels: strategic, operational, and tactical;
  • Manage the development of strategies for continuous improvement and innovation initiatives that will generate positive business outcomes and improve production and safety across the site;
  • Develop and drive improved operating performance in volume, cost, quality, and reliability;
  • Direct and support technology optimization of production processes (Industry 4.0), integrated manufacturing systems, and other systems that support business performance;
  • Monitor the financial performance of the site, including annual budget preparation, periodic reviews (monthly, quarterly), and strong control of direct, indirect, and unit costs;
  • Provide close coaching, feedback, and mentoring to the plant management team to ensure that plant goals and objectives are achieved.

What you can bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's degree;
  • MBA or Postgraduate degree in Management is a differential;
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills - Bilingual (Portuguese/English);
  • Extensive experience in the Mining and Metals or within the heavy industry sector;
  • Knowledge in mining process, refining and processes related to the metal or chemical area;
  • Availability to live in Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais
