Position

Louis Vuitton South America is recruiting for a well experienced PR Director based in São Paulo. As a PR Director you will be an ambassador of the Brand and ensure the success of the PR strategy.

We are seeking a well-seasoned Public Relations (PR) Director to oversee and manage our company's public image and communications throughout the South American region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in media relations, corporate communication, brand management, and strategic planning within diverse markets across South America but most specifically Brazil. This role requires fluency in English and Portuguese with Spanish as a plus, as well as a deep understanding of the cultural nuances that influence business practices and consumer behaviour in our region.

  1. Strategic Leadership:

Develop comprehensive PR strategies that align with the company's objectives for growth in the South American market.

Lead crisis management efforts by preparing contingency plans and rapidly addressing any issues that may negatively impact the company's reputation.

  1. PR Management:

  • Propose and manage PR department budgets for LVSA.
  • Develop local PR strategy and tactical action plans. To implement seasonal strategy with the primary focus being #1 ranking in DMR editorially monthly ending at #1 year over year (YOY).
  • Create strategic editorial features that generate Fashion coverage and institutional LV product coverage, including Savoir Faire coverage, to ensure they are evenly balanced.
  • Provide timely orders, updates and information as requested. Work closely with their New York PR teams on an ongoing basis, with special emphasis on product launches, etc.
  • Attend RTW shows as and when requested and accompanying PR meetings or global press launches as needed in varying territories.

  • Supervise all Digital and Print press activity for LVSA. National, Regional and International based on our zone.
  • Provide ongoing support to high level editors and publications.
  • Participate in the selection of regional PR support/agencies if needed and manage all local PR efforts (including PR agency to ensure all deliverables are met).
  • Set clear expectations and results driven objectives for any retained agencies.
  • Work closely with Regional VP to identify local PR opportunities and support vehicles in their markets while overseeing regional PR.
  • Oversee all fashion show activity including seating charts, interviews, etc. for LVSA press at fashion shows twice and represent South America at worldwide PR meetings if needed.
  • Attend press appointments in where necessary and report press comments to SVP Communications
  • Manage all monthly reporting and related weekly updates.

Profile

Work Experience/Skills

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior PR role with proven success managing comprehensive public relations programs at a regional or global level within the luxury world.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams across multiple countries.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically while executing tactically
  • Culturally astute with respect to differences among various South American countries
  • In-depth knowledge of traditional as well as digital/social media landscapes
  • Highly organized with excellent project management skills
  • Strong networker capable of building relationships at all levels
  • High levels of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills coupled with strong well-established relationships with press and editors.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese is required; proficiency in both Spanish and Portuguese is strongly preferred due to regional requirements.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in public relations, communications or related field; Master's degree preferred.
