Consular Crisis Bags and satellite phones: Ensure that consular crisis bags and satellite phones are tested regularly and kept up to date with the required equipment, software and supplies.Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to address any gaps or issues with the crisis bags.Provide training and guidance to staff members on the use of crisis bag equipment. Security and Policy Compliance: Ensure that users of the official system follow security operating procedures (SOPs) and the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) in line with FCDO audit requirements.Conduct regular internal audits to identify and address any violations or security risks.Develop and deliver training programs and communication to promote awareness of security best practices and policy compliance. Official Mobile Phone Audit: Conduct regular audits of official mobile phones, ensuring compliance with usage policies.Monitor mobile phone inventory, activations, and deactivations.Coordinate repairs, replacements, or upgrades as needed. Essential qualifications, skills and experienceEssential on arrival:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Experience in providing first-line ICT support in a professional environment. Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, and networking systems. Familiarity with security operating procedures (SOPs) and information security best practices. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.Language requirements:

Level of language required: Full fluency in English and Portuguese (written and verbal) are essential.

Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, eg some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount. Appointable candidates who were unsuccessful may be placed on a 'reserve list'. If during the reserve period of 6-12 months the same or a largely similar role becomes available, that role may be offered to the second or subsequent candidate.
