Business Context and Main Purpose of the Job

Born in 1925 as Lever Brothers' first beauty soap - "Made like the costliest French Soap, sold for only 10 cents" -, today LUX is the second most penetrated beauty brand in the world, built around strong fragrance and skincare credentials.

Sold in more than 100 countries, LUX is a truly global brand with its main footprint in Developing & Emerging markets, with Brazil as its 3rd largest market and Argentina also in the top 10.

After years of average performance and eroding share, LUX is now growing strongly (10%+ usg in the last 2 years; 85% of business winning share; brand power improving significantly).

This turnaround started in LATAM, with the relaunch of LUX as LUX Botanicals in 2018, which has helped the brand recover its #2 position share wise and #1 position penetration wise in Brazil.

In the refreshed PC strategy for LATAM, LUX will continue to play a key role for the Business Group, leading Liquids Market Development for the category, premiumising with superior benefits and transforming the bars business to make it profitable and thus sustainable for the future.


This is a Global Brand Development role where you will work on developing innovations and communication assets for LUX for LATAM.

The role will be split between work on core bars, liquids market development and future core innovation projects for our successful line extension, Essencias do Brazil por LUX Botanicals, with scope to work on exciting new premium formats beyond just the basic shower gel.

One key aspect of the role is also to help drive GM improvement projects as the category profitability is poor and a GM unlock will be key to help fuel future growth.

The role reports to a Global Brand Director, based in India as well as a dotted line to the PC BG Director for LATAM for on the ground support, guidance and prioritization within PC strategy.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop and implement communication and innovation for LUX in BR & Argentina in line with skin cleansing strategy.- Effectively partner with cross functional teams (CMI, R&D, Supply Chain, Artwork Excellence, Fragrance Team) to ensure successful and OTIF launches + partner with the Botanicals platform lead in Singapore to maximise synergies and cross fertilization on Botanicals globally.- Collaborate with agency partners to craft successful communication with best-in-class digital & content strategies.- Dock with BU Marketing Teams and work closely with them to ensure we land delightful mixes that are relevant to local consumers and drive value for customers.- Experiment and develop new ways to reach our consumers.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED- Complete Graduation- Advanced English- Advanced Portuguese or Spanish- Previous experience in Brand Marketing is essential.- Previous experience in crafting Innovations and communications as well as previous experience in beauty is preferrable.

VERY IMPORTANT:
This role is based in Brazil.

However, for the first 12 months in the vacancy the person will be based in Argentina in a Short Term Assignment.

After this time, returns to Brazil.
