  • Plastics: With new technology trends, our plastic additives can be experienced in many everyday items including vinyl, blowmolding bottles, film, rigid containers, PVC plastics, siding, decks and rails, foam pipes and profile formulations, window frames and highefficiency lubricants.
  • Industrial intermediates: As the product of a reaction that is beneficial when used as a precursor chemical for another product, industrial intermediates can take on many shapes and forms. Ours are used in home comfort and appliance, building and construction, adhesives and lubricants, and more.
  • Coatings: Whether it's a waterbased coating or solventbased coating, a thin film is deposited on materials to enhance specific properties such as enhanced performance, durability, aesthetics, and sustainability.

Dow has a new open role for a Business Communications Specialist in Dow's Performance Materials & Coatings (PM&C) portfolio in Latin America, located in São Paulo, (SP) Brazil.


This individual is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies in alignment with business and market strategies for Dow's Coating Materials business as well as Building & Infrastructure, Industrial & Chemical Processing Markets within Dow's Consumer Solutions business in Latin America.

He or she will collaborate closely with multiple functions and business stakeholders to develop integrated promotion plans including but not limited to digital campaign development, virtual and in-person events, media engagement, and content and key messaging development.


This position is part of the Dow Performance Materials & Coatings Business Communications Team and will report to the Coatings & Performance Monomers Communications Leader.


Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Develop and execute the Latin America (LAA) integrated communications strategy, in alignment with PM&C's business growth strategy, marketing and business communications strategies
  • Lead campaigns and inperson/virtual events, such as tradeshows, webinars, in LAA to promote priority products and markets with ongoing measurement based on business objectives
  • Serve as a strategic communications advisor in the region and provide counsel and communications support for senior LAA leadership
  • Lead proactive media engagement for the region, develop media messaging map and identify and train key spokespeople.
  • Create content development plan for key promotion channels in alignment with global business communications strategy.
  • Lead regional social media strategy and priorities, including organic and paid campaigns, channel management, reputation management, measurement and governance.
  • Provide communications counsel and direction to regional commercial teams to enhance promotion effectiveness and drive increased engagement with key audiences
  • Oversee allocated regional budget and agency management, including agency performance and relationship management, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Fluency in English and either Spanish or Portuguese (both spoken and written) is a must. Any other regional language is an advantage.
  • Strong writing and project management skills
  • Ability to work with a variety of cultures, functions and businesses and other stakeholder groups along with the skills to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously prioritizing a diverse range of projects and meeting tight deadlines.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 35 years of experience in marketing, business communications and/or related communications disciplines
