Accounting & Finance Manager

Position Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and results-oriented Accounting Manager to lead the financial accounting operations of our Brazilian subsidiary. This role is responsible for ensuring full compliance, operational accuracy, and high-quality financial reporting that supports strategic decision-making and the company’s business growth.

Job Summary

The Accounting Manager will oversee the entire accounting cycle of our automotive sales division in Brazil, ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and efficient process management. This position requires strong technical knowledge of Brazilian accounting standards, tax rules for the automotive sector, and experience leading accounting teams in fast-paced environments.

You will work closely with sales, inventory, tax, and senior management teams to align financial processes with business strategies, optimize cash flow, and support company expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Reporting

• Lead and manage the full accounting cycle: AP/AR, general ledger, reconciliations, fixed assets, and month-end/quarter-end/year-end closings, ensuring compliance with BR GAAP and corporate policies.
• Prepare and review financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement) in accordance with Brazilian regulatory requirements (CVM, Receita Federal) and group reporting standards.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of accounting reports to headquarters.

Tax Compliance（automotive focus）

• Ensure strict compliance with all tax obligations (ICMS, PIS/COFINS, IRPJ/CSLL, ISS, IPVA), with emphasis on rules and incentives related to automotive sales.
• Work closely with the tax team to validate accounting treatment for tax filings, optimize tax positions, and reduce financial risks.

Audit & Controls

• Support and coordinate internal and external audits (financial, tax, regulatory), including preparation of documentation, follow-up of findings, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure proper risk management procedures.

Business Support

• Collaborate with sales and inventory teams to analyze profitability, inventory turnover, pricing impacts, and cash flow performance.
• Provide financial insights to support decision-making in pricing strategy, inventory planning, and working capital optimization.

Systems & Process Optimization

• Ensure effective use of SAP and related financial tools.
• Identify opportunities to automate accounting processes, improve data accuracy, and enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience in automotive retail (dealerships, automotive groups) or large retail operations;
• OR at least 5 years of experience as project manager or senior consultant in a Big Four accounting firm.

Technical Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of BR GAAP, corporate reporting standards, and Brazilian tax regulations applicable to the automotive sector.
• Proven experience in automotive accounting processes:
• Inventory valuation (FIFO/LIFO),
• Sales commissions accounting,
• Dealer incentive and rebate tracking.
• Strong SAP proficiency is mandatory.
