Project Manager

We are looking for a responsible and skilled Project Manager who will lead and manage our Ultilities projects in Brazil.

Main activities and Responsibilities:

• The project manager is responsible for the execution of the projects and ensure that all related activities comply with SUNGROW's procedures, initiatives and policy, with the contract, quality standards, HSE requirements, financial goals and deadlines.
• Lead the project team, motivating and monitoring internal and external resources for the fulfillment of tasks, goals and deadlines.
• Responsible for managing the term, cost, scope, risks and opportunities, quality, priorities and physical and financial planning of the Project.
• Evaluate the hours in the project and ensure approval after any adjustments in order to meet monthly the dates and time limits worked.
• Know, seek updating and ensure that the execution of the project complies with SUNGROW's best practices, instructions, processes, initiatives and policies.
• Manage the interfaces and conflicts of the team, internal, suppliers and partners.
• Stimulate and support the team within the project in the implementation of new tools, initiatives, processes and changes.
• Check, calculate and validate monthly project cost and receivables.
• Unrestricted, broad and unambiguous to know all contractual terms and conditions.
• Manage contractual changes, variations in scope, term, conditions and claims whenever necessary;
• Create, update and maintain in a structured and organized way all documentation support for future and possible disputes, negotiations, defenses and / or claims - Project Litigation.
• Provide timely and structured and planned project closure (Project Close-out).
• Stimulate, identify, record and share lessons learned from the project at least during project meetings and consolidate to present in the "close out".
• Build and maintain the relationship with internal and external stakeholders, be the main contact of the project with the client and internally
• Manage the registration, control and archiving of work documentation (Construction management)
• Manage the subjects and content of the work documentation (Construction management)
• • Ensure that the "Site Supervisor" performs the daily analysis of HSE routines in the field (APR, training, among others), both for SUNGROW employees and companies that are providing services to SUNGROW;
• Support the commercial team in commercial agreements, minute of contract, contract risk analysis and the project scope elaboration, as well as participate in proposal closing meetings sharing the experiences of previous contracts (lesson learned).
• Be the focal point in the handover meeting, where the process takes place in which the commercial team performs the transfer of the contract to the project team.
• Responsible for critical analysis of the contract, purchase order and / or attachments, budget, technical and commercial proposal, schedule and milestones and other.
• Responsible for conducting the internal kickoff meeting (Brazil and HQ team) for the presentation of deviations and / or changes of the contract (if any) to align expectations and strategies with the commercial team and other stakeholders. It is at this stage that Project Manager and the project team decide to proceed with the contract or reject it (return it to the sales team).
• Responsible for holding the external kickoff meeting (client) for the presentation of the scope of the project, objectives, methodology and other information pertinent to the contract.
• Preparation and approval of the project communication plan.
• Approval of the S Curve of the project and preparation / approval of the executive schedule of the project.
• Support and approve financial controls (costs, revenues, cash and margin) with the Project Controller.
• Develop the control of project receivables (measurement) as provided for in the contractual events/milestones.
• Request and approve the billing worksheet for presentation and customer knowledge.
• Responsible for reporting (with project controller) of financial results and KPIs for the finance department and board, updating monthly P&L, risks and opportunities, contingencies and cash flow.
• Request, support and monitor deliveries from the finance department such as insurance, security, hedge, letter of credit and other documents, if any.
• Manage, monitor and control guarantees and insurance, as well as their execution, if any.
• Responsible for validating with the customer the criteria of approval of the project and the product.
• Identify and review monthly project risks and opportunities. Project Manager should identify project risks, where the project team must present for each risk an action to prevent, mitigate, avoid or transfer project risks. Risks should be quantified and assessed as to the probability of occurrence and their respective impacts.
• Manage contingencies and provisions.
• Supervise and support field activities.
• Organize the training as provided in the contract.
• Responsible for holding Project Meeting meetings with the project team to evaluate, control and define the actions relevant to the project.
• Responsible for holding project follow-up meetings with the client in order to communicate the status of the project to the client, equalize information, solve problems and elaborate any lists of actions and responsibilities in order to ensure the good progress of the project.
• Hold commissioning planning meetings with the Service team and align expectations to the service and ensure the supply of spare parts for any needs.
• Execute the termination of the contract, receipt of the acceptance of the contract, financial reconciliation and termination of the guarantees and guarantees in force of the contract, as well as termination of pending issues, if any.
• Perform the handover with the Service to start the contractual guarantee period.

Function Specific Knowledge:

• Advanced English
• Able to use Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, power Point and Outlook)
• Proficiency in project management tools, such as MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent software.
• Must have proven experience in managing large-scale projects in the energy market and utilities projects (centralized generation), with experience in the sector and with key players and stakeholders, including Photovoltaic (PV) projects, Wind projects, Substations and Power System (HV/MV) projects and/or others.
• Expertise in budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
• Understanding of engineering contracts and vendor management.

Education and Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Production, etc.) or related fields (Business Administration, Project Management).
• A postgraduate degree or an MBA in Project Management can be an advantage.
• Certifications in project management, such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or others.
