Accounting Coordinator – South America (Brazil, Chile, and Argentina)

About the Role
We are a leading company in the luxury retail industry, and we are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Coordinator to join our South America Finance team. This position will be responsible for supporting the accounting and tax closing processes across Brazil, Chile, and Argentina, ensuring compliance with both local regulations and international accounting standards (IFRS).
This is a strategic role that requires strong technical expertise, communication skills, and the ability to interact with both local and international stakeholders, including external auditors and consultants.
Key Responsibilities
Closing & Management Reporting
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and tax closing activities in collaboration with internal teams and BPO partners.
- Monitor financial entries throughout the month and resolve operational or system-related discrepancies.
- Prepare, review, and submit financial reports using HFM, adhering to headquarters' consolidation timelines.
- Deliver complete and accurate Reporting Packages to HQ on a regular basis.
- Submit monthly cash flow reports in HFM.
- Manage IFRS 16 processes and coordinate related entries with BPOs based on HQ guidelines.
- Maintain provision spreadsheets for bonuses, commissions, variable rent, and other expenses.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy with BPO partners.
- Support external audits and Transfer Pricing reviews.
- Provide ad hoc financial analyses and account breakdowns as requested.
- Collaborate with global teams to clarify technical accounting queries and validate classifications.
Inventory Control
- Execute monthly inventory account reconciliations, including corrections and reclassifications.
- Calculate and manage inventory obsolescence provisions across all countries.
- Support cost closing processes and perform margin analysis.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions and inventory-related accounts.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Mandatory: Experience with Linx ERP.
- Preferred: Familiarity with HFM and other ERP systems.
- Strong background in accounting/tax closing and IFRS compliance.
- Experience in multinational companies and reporting to global headquarters.
- Advanced Excel skills and high proficiency in data management and analysis.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Languages: Intermediate to advanced English and/or Spanish.
