Key Responsibilities

Maintain and optimize critical internal platforms already developed.

Partner with developers and cross-functional teams to address performance, observability, and workflow needs.

Improve platform scalability, reliability, and monitoring capabilities.

Lead role: provide technical leadership, set direction, and support engineers within the team.

Technical Requirements

Core Skills:

Observability: Grafana

Infrastructure as Code: Terraform

Workflow orchestration: Temporal

Programming: Must-have: Java, Scala /

Nice-to-have: Golang (at least willingness to learn is a must)

Additional Nice-to-Haves:

Kafka

ElasticSearch

Candidate Profile

Strong platform expertise (not application devs).

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to support developers across multiple teams.

Lead role: background in platform engineering with proven leadership experience.

Fast learners, capable of quickly adapting to well-defined processes.

IMPORTANT:

Good communication skills is crucial

They want consultants to be working on PST hours (9am - 5 pm PST, they are okay with +/- 1 hour)

There won't be a lot of handholding

Experience with Slack would be a huge plus because the consultant will need to be responding ASAP, this team works with micromanagement and they want the consultants to be providing updates frequently (sometimes even more than once a day) and being active and attentive to the Slack channels.

Communicating blockers right away is a MUST.

We need someone transparent, resilient, disciplined, flexible, able to multitask (able to check & reply on slack and keep working on assigned tasks), committed, used to working in a fast-paced environment.
