What is the job

In this entry-level manufacturing position, as a Production Associate with Avient you will be responsible for performing weigh-up or packaging duties within the production department. You will help ensure the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost and meet customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with Avient policies and procedures.

Pay and Schedule

Pay: $21.00

Hours: 10:45 PM to 7:30 AM

Days: Sunday night to Friday morning

Responsibilities

• Obtain the correct documentation for the batch and ensure the correct ingredients are delivered to the work area. May be required to obtain ingredients for mixing and weigh out to meet recipe specifications.
• Set up and start weigh-up or packaging machinery, checking all controls for adherence to operating and safety procedures.
• Notify appropriate personnel of any issues in a timely manner.
• Safely and neatly process, batch off, screen, cut up, package and/or skid material to correct size/container according to customer specifications.
• Accurately supply/support Production Operators with materials/functions to efficiently keep all equipment operational.
• Perform all required machine cleaning and maintain required paperwork and/or documents.
• Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent training & experience
• Work experience in an industrial operations environment preferred
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals
• Math skills to perform basic operations and unit conversions

Physical Demands

• Requires standing and sitting for extended periods; ability to walk and use hands; may involve bending, stooping, climbing ladders and stairs
• May lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds
• Fast-paced manufacturing environment with loud noise levels; use of PPE including safety glasses, shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, and respirators as required
• Exposure to outside weather conditions and extreme heat/humidity; potential exposure to dust or fumes
