About The Role

VentureWell is seeking a Contracts Specialist to join our dynamic team to support contracting processes across a variety of programs. Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing and administering various contract types (including Firm Fixed Price and Time & Materials) and modifications. VentureWell's funding includes Federal contracting dollars, so Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) experience is highly preferred. You will work closely with internal Programs teams to meet contracting needs with attention to detail that supports program goals. A thorough understanding of contracting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to balance multiple tasks are required.

Responsibilities

Program Contracting Support (80-90% of time)

  • Develop, maintain, and catalog process documents and agreement templates for contracting paid for by Organizational, Foundational, Federal, and Routine funding, as assigned
  • Liaise between organizational and programmatic stakeholders for agreement and approval on scopes of work and terms and conditions
  • Field and process internal requests for contract support
  • Process, record, and store agreements and delivery orders for review and execution
  • Support pre-award/procurement activities (Requests for Proposals, Requests for Information, Requests for Qualifications)
  • Track, manage, and communicate with consultants and vendors for materials required to satisfy agreement compliance conditions
  • Onboard new consultants and vendors as approved and requested
  • Support other Contracting and Expense Team members with recording expenses and ad hoc requests
  • Facilitate and project manage programmatic stipends process and expense recording
  • Track and manage consultant and contractor commitments
  • Create and deliver routine and ad hoc reporting to internal stakeholders as assigned or requested
  • Research and problem solve using precedent and policies for contracting concerns and emergent programs

General & Administrative (10-20% of time)

  • Development of process or procedure documentation to enhance or improve contracting operations
  • Training and participation in group meetings and department projects or objectives
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting preferred; Experience considered in lieu of degree
  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience, with at least one year working with contracts or experience working directly with VentureWell programs
  • Current or prior experience working in a full-time contracting capacity required
  • High degree of digital fluency using cloud-based office tools (G Suite, CRMs, team collaboration tools, and other web-based applications); ability to incorporate these tools into day-to-day work; specific experience with financial/accounting software (NetSuite or similar fund accounting software preferred)
  • Ability to succeed in an environment with competing and changing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Track record of building solid, collaborative working relationships; strong team player who is highly responsive and customer-service oriented
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Highly adaptable and comfortable working with a degree of ambiguity
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills with the ability to articulate and synthesize information in a compelling and organized manner

  • a salary range of $70-$80k commensurate with experience and internal equity
  • 403(b) with 200% match up to a maximum contribution from VentureWell of 10% when the employee puts in 5% (eligible after one year of service for the match)
