Doctor of Science in Health Sciences Program Director

Twelve-month, open-rank, tenure-track or clinical faculty position to serve as the Program Director for the developing Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) in Health Sciences program. The Program Director will take the lead in designing the curriculum, courses, and overall structure of the DSc program in consultation with the Associate Dean for the School of Rehabilitation Sciences and the Dean for the College of Health. The new D.Sc. program at Moravian University will be offered as an online program with focused in-person residency experience(s) at the institution. Thus, there is an opportunity for this position to be remote.

Preferred start date

June 2025, but an August 2025 start is negotiable.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Program Director Responsibilities:
   • Develop, direct, and oversee the Doctor of Science in Health Sciences Program, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
   • Lead program design, development, implementation, assessment, and administration.
   • Collaborate with the Program Directors of professional programs within the College of Health to promote interdisciplinary initiatives and shared resources.
   • Ensure program effectiveness through continuous curriculum assessment, faculty development, and student engagement strategies.
2. Faculty Responsibilities:
   • Develop and teach courses within the Doctor of Science in Health Sciences program and, as applicable, across the School of Rehabilitation Sciences and College of Health.
   • Utilize expertise in online learning platforms, hybrid learning models, and andragogical strategies for adult learners.
   • Engage in team-teaching and interdisciplinary education within the School of Rehabilitation Sciences and College of Health.
   • Participate in scholarly activities, mentorship, and service to the university and profession.

Qualifications

• Earned research doctorate (e.g., PhD, EdD, DSc) in a health-related field preferred; earned post-professional clinical doctorates will be considered.
• Minimum of six years of full-time teaching/administrative experience in a higher education setting.
• Evidence of successful online or hybrid teaching experience with adult learners at the university level.
• Evidence of curriculum development.
• Evidence of successful scholarship and a sustained scholarly agenda (tenure-track option).
• Face-to-face teaching experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated engagement and service to the health-related field is preferred.

The School of Rehabilitation Sciences houses undergraduate programs in Health Sciences (BS) and Public Health (BS or BA), and graduate programs in Athletic Training (MSAT & DAT), Occupational Therapy (MSOT & PP-OTD), Speech-Language Pathology (MS-SLP, SLPD), and Physical Therapy (DPT). The school promotes interprofessional programs within a collaborative environment designed to foster student learning and engagement across disciplines.
