Director of Fund Operations – Client Services

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Fund Operations – Client Services to join our Fund Services team in Curaçao. This role is responsible for overseeing the operational, regulatory, and commercial aspects of our Fund Services business, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and contractual obligations while driving commercial growth. You will lead a team responsible for the set-up and administration of investment funds and their investors, while also playing a key role in business development and client relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

Client Services & Fund Operations

  • Serve as the primary contact for fund administration clients, maintaining strong, long-term relationships and providing expert guidance on structuring, fund operations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Act as a technical reference to clients, sales teams, and other offices on fund structuring and operations.
  • Oversee the launch, ongoing administration, and regulatory compliance of a portfolio of funds.
  • Ensure accuracy of NAV calculations, financial reporting, fund transactions, shareholder services, and compliance monitoring.
  • Collaborate with internal accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of services.

Sales & Business Growth

  • Lead business development efforts to grow the client base and expand services with existing clients.
  • Develop and execute a sales and growth strategy in alignment with office targets.
  • Oversee onboarding and smooth transitions for new fund clients.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to local and international regulations impacting fund structures and administration.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and support clients through audits, examinations, and reporting obligations.
  • Monitor AML/KYC compliance and shareholder services processes.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and develop a team of fund professionals, fostering high performance and accountability.
  • Oversee productivity, billing, service quality, and operational excellence.
  • Support employee development through training, feedback, and performance management.
  • Continuously review and improve processes to achieve operational efficiencies.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree minimum; 15+ years' experience in the investment fund industry, ideally with private equity, real estate, or fund administration.
  • Solid technical expertise in fund accounting (IFRS, US GAAP), NAV calculations, capital calls, tax structures, and audit processes.
  • Deep understanding of both UCITS and alternative investment funds.
  • Proven success in leading teams, managing clients, and growing business.
  • Commercially driven, proactive, results-focused.
  • Fluent in English (other languages are an asset).
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and client-facing skills.
  • Hands-on experience with fund structuring, investor services, and fund directorships.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director / Client Services to lead and manage a portfolio of international clients, ensuring their corporate structures meet the highest standards of compliance, tax efficiency, and legal integrity. This leadership role is central to supporting our clients in navigating international structuring, legal and fiscal requirements, while also contributing to the growth of our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on international corporate structuring, helping them achieve optimal tax and legal positioning across jurisdictions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant global tax regulations and transparency standards (CRS, FATCA, BEPS, GAAR, ESR).
  • Oversee the management and administration of corporate structures, partnerships, and trusts in line with legal and fiscal requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal accounting and compliance teams on matters related to tax, financial reporting, and administration.
  • Monitor changes in legislation, anticipate risks, and provide proactive guidance to clients on tax, legal, and compliance impacts.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted client relationships while supporting business development initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Accounting, Tax, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in the financial services industry, with at least 5 years in senior management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of international tax regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience in managing high-performing client service teams.
  • Commercially driven with excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
  • Fluent in English; other languages are an advantage.

Requirements Essential:
  • TEFL qualification
  • DELTA or DipTESOL qualified
  • Extensive experience teaching General English to adults online & in-person
  • Proven track record in teacher training, mentoring, and academic leadership
  • Experience observing and assessing teaching practices
  • Strong background in academic scheduling and operations
  • Strong digital literacy and comfort using educational platforms and IT systems
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and adapt in a fast-paced, remote working environment

Desirable:

  • Previous experience as a Director of Studies or in a similar academic leadership role
  • Experience managing remote teams and asynchronous workflows
  • Background in recruiting and managing academic staff
