About the position

We are looking for a User Research Lead who is committed and passionate about understanding people's behaviour, taste and also about gaming. This role will be responsible for organizing and executing researches with different methodologies aiming to provide actionable reports in order to improve Garena gaming portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and synthesize player data to uncover insights on preferences, behaviors, and pain points.
  • Plan and execute end-to-end research studies using surveys, focus groups, interviews, playtests, and other methods.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize research needs and align with project goals.
  • Champion a player-first mindset across the organization by advocating for evidence-based decision-making.
  • Translate research findings into actionable recommendations for game design, product, and publishing teams.
  • Lead and mentor a team of user researchers, fostering their growth and ensuring high-quality output.
  • Ensure consistent, reliable research practices that reflect the voice of players.
  • Stay current on research methodologies and gaming trends to continuously elevate research impact.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree completed.
  • 8+ years of experience in user research, including 2–3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity. Hands-on experience with both qualitative and quantitative research techniques.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English, both written and spoken.
  • Skilled in designing and conducting surveys, FGDs, interviews, and usability studies.
  • Strong ability to communicate insights clearly and persuasively to non-research audiences.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects and collaborating across departments.
  • Passion for games or a strong understanding of gaming culture and player motivations.
  • Excellent project management and organization skills and familiarity with Agile methodology.
  • Adherence to all core values.
Nice to Have
  • Experience in the gaming or entertainment industry.
  • Proficiency with research tools like Qualtrics, SPSS, Dovetail, or similar.
  • Familiarity with ChatGPT and Gemini and openness to develop AI skills.
