Solutions Sales Manager - Life Science Academic & Government LATAM

Life Sciences (LS) Solutions - LATAM

The LATAM Solution Sales Manager (SSM) will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic sales plan that will expand the Life Sciences Solutions portfolio (LATAM countries). Focusing on Academic and Government markets. Actively contributing to sales and to working collaboratively with a large and complex matrix of salespeople. You'll sell a suite of products with accountability for total new business revenue.

*The position can be Office-based or Home-based in Brazil, Rio or Sao Paulo. You will report to the Regional Solution Sales Manager LS EMLA*

Your responsibilities:

- Developing and executing sales strategy and planning for achievement of new sales target of LSS portfolio in territory.
- Creating and executing the LSS portfolio penetration plan in collaboration with regional sales team. Aligning territory/account LSS portfolio plan with holistic territory/account plan.
- Coordinating and integrating crucial sales activities with appropriate segment team initiatives.
- Identifying and engaging a network of influential key opinion leaders, key institutions, domain societies and governmental influencers in key markets.
- Negotiating and closing contracts for new sales.
- Developing a deep understanding of the relevant customer segment the solutions are sold into, translating the solution value to be segment specific.
- Advising and collaborating on differentiated approach, solution packaging, and pricing proposals for LSS solutions in the A&G segments in territory.
- Developing a deep understanding of competition landscape.
- Transitioning ownership of the account/ agreement to Account Manager & Customer Consultant, ensuring total growth on total base of the portfolio, successfully.
- Staying abreast of development in field and market segment and share with Elsevier.
- Providing continuous feedback to product and marketing teams and participate in projects to help marketing in meeting strategic sales objectives.
- Channeling feedback to the Product organization for continued product enhancement and new development needs, including for customized solutions.

Organizational context:
You'll work closely with the Regional Solution Sales Manager Life Science, Life Science Marketing, Product, Business Development, Account Managers, and Regional Account Directors. Liaising on strategic and operational activities with Marketing, Business Development functions, Research Networks, Scientific Technical and Medical Journals (STMJ), Science Direct, Scopus & Research Solutions teams.

Required qualifications and skills:

- Have exceptional sales and business development experience - "Sales Hunter profile" (new business).
- Have a high level of Education in chemistry, biochemistry or chemistry-related fields, Science or research background.
- Have a background in complex solution sales approach - “Consultative Sales" methodology.
- Have excellent analytical and presentation skills.
- Have experience and knowledge of the chemical/biological/medical IT solutions for researcher industries.
- Have excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Are fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
- Have experience working in an international matrix organization.
- Have an advanced understanding of differing international business cultures.
- have the drive to be a self-starter.

This job requires frequent traveling within territory (up to 50% post-Covid).
