We need to move away from fossil fuels, and for the world to reach net zero emissions we need renewable Hydrogen. Hydro Havrand is Hydro’s renewable hydrogen company, which will help drive the uptake of green hydrogen in sectors we can’t directly electrify - such as big parts of industry, long-distance transport and shipping. Hydro Havrand aims to be an early mover in the hydrogen industry and helps industries succeed with their energy transition and cut emissions.

Hydro Havrand is now looking for an experienced Head of Business Development who will be responsible for identifying, securing and maturing new hydrogen and hydrogen based project opportunities in Brazil, establishing the project structure, supporting investment decision in the projects and bringing the projects to financial close and start of construction.

**Responsibilities**:
Business Development, to inform investment decisions:

- Manage business development and commercial activities in Hydro Havrand in Brazil as part of the global commercial team, contributing to driving an agile and innovative business culture;
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the potential demand for hydrogen and hydrogen derived products as well as the power markets and opportunities for hydrogen production in Brazil;
- Originate project opportunities for Hydro Havrand and contribute to assessing M&A opportunities and driving pipeline development, thereby building and managing a strong opportunity pipeline over time;
- Develop relationships with hydrogen and renewable associations and stakeholders, authorities, regulators and utilities, in order to understand the regulatory context, and to develop an understanding of potential key changes and developments;
- Identify and nurture relationships with local/regional developers, brokers, banks, contractors, etc. to identify project and funding opportunities;
- As a key lever to creating value, act as an integrated knowledge partner to both internal and external customers;
- Identify, screen and evaluate new business and project opportunities including:

- Project specific investment proposal (business case, partnerships, M&A opportunities);
- Optimal technical solutions with technical teams;
- Risk assessments related to the projects, including land, interconnection, permitting and environmental & social risks, and financial risks and corresponding mitigation strategies;
- Negotiation with prospective partners and relevant agreements;
- Contribute to shaping the business strategy of Hydro Havrand in Brazil, including market strategies complemented by partnerships across the value chain to accelerate the development and create project opportunities.

Project development, on Havrand projects:

- Support the process of financing the projects, including structuring with financial partners. Take part in the process of securing required rights, permits and authorizations, including requirements for international standards;
- Support development and maturation of the technical solution, both on the engineering and the procurement sides, and support on the development processes as needed.

**Experience**:

- Relevant international experience in the energy or industrial sectors, in business development roles with contract negotiations;
- Relevant experience in the energy industry.

**Skills**:

- Self-driven and independent, with ability to cooperate with multicultural and international teams;
- Value-driven, with high focus on collaboration;
- Proven negotiation skills, ability to build successful partnerships with business partners;
- Commercial acumen, optimizing the technical aspects of a project in order to increase project value, and a track record in turning opportunities into firm business commitments and of building partnerships;
- Uncompromising integrity;
- Identifies and anticipates project risks in all areas and suggests mitigation solutions;
- Broad network within the extended renewables industry;
- Understanding of and experience with the emerging energy industry transition;
- Excellent communication skills in Portuguese and English.

**Qualifications**:

- Higher education, preferably a degree in business administration, finance, economics, engineering or similar.
