Job Description Summary: The Sr. Director of Payments and PMM LATAM will be responsible for the strategy, development, and maintenance of our payment methods in the country as well as product go-to-market strategies. This position collaborates with cross-functional teams, such as product, sales, finance, and compliance to drive the growth and efficiency of payment operations and product offering. This position will also be responsible for the relationship with the payment ecosystem (gateway, acquirer, issuer, card scheme and card/trade associations), develop strategic partnerships and cooperation with those players and be a key person on the regulatory projects strategy. We are seeking a commercially driven professional with focus on the customer and expertise in the online. This position will require experience working directly with the payments industry players particularly with Payment and Financial Institutions. The main markets are Brazil and Mexico.

**Job Description**:
Primary Job Responsibilities:

- Drive the sourcing and delivery of new products and partnerships that optimize our KPI's of transaction expense, revenue enablement and customer acquisition
- Manage a portfolio of partnerships in Brazil and Mexico being the primary point of contact for the relationship, while represent the Payments team on the Brazil and Mexico Leadership Team.
- Develop strategic partnerships with networks, financial institutions and payment schemes to drive merchant/consumer acquisition and engagement
- Analysis and optimization of our payment solutions and make recommendations to improve success rates, availability of the payments platform and lower costs
- Define and keep track project prioritization, roadmap and execution
- Understand the product inbound and outbound, value proposition, market competitors and design the go to market strategy
- Be a strategic thought leader in the ever-changing payments landscape in the market and represent PayPal to the payments industry players.
- Develop strategic partnerships with networks, financial institutions, and payment schemes to drive consumer acquisition and activity.
- Be the payments expert for the local operations understanding how people make payments, rules and regulations surrounding payments in the market, the technologies and clearing systems in the market.
- Negotiate contracts with local service providers and payments partners.
- Lead a team of 8-20 payments and business development professionals

**Skills**:

- Experience working with payments industry participants
- Deep understanding of payment economics and payments ecosystem
- Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in an ambiguous and cross functional environment with proven track record of delivering projects
- Strong negotiation and relationships management skills
- Cross-functional collaboration and leadership skills, as well as knowledge of global and local markets, and extensive experience in the digital payments space

Qualifications:

- 12+ years of relevant experience in business development and commercial areas of the Payment Services industry (preferably within Financial Ecosystem)
- Graduate in:

- Industrial / Mechanical Engineering
- Business Administration / Finance
- Strong analytical background & proven project management experience
- Ambitious, entrepreneurial & self-driven personality
- Languages:

- Fluent Portuguese, Spanish and English
