Rakuten is a leading player in the Affiliate Marketing industry. We provide innovative solutions that helps advertisers connect with publishers and influencers. With a commitment to excellence and a track record of success, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team.

As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving outbound sales efforts while also strategically expanding our presence in the agency ecosystem. Your primary goal will be to identify and secure new business opportunities, develop strong relationships with potential clients, and achieve revenue targets. You will work closely with the Sales Director and cross-functional teams to execute our growth strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Seek out and build relationships with agency and advertiser contacts for new business opportunities
- Identify and target potential clients through research, cold calls, and networking
- Produce a high volume of sales related activity and keep governance of this data in our CRM
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing contract deals, utilize market tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, and other relevant software to manage leads, track sales activities, and analyze performance
- Keep accurate records of sales activities and report on progress regularly
- Understand client and agencies needs and requirements to tailor solutions that meet their business objectives
- Identify partnership opportunities, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with agencies to expand our market presence.
- Meet and exceed all sales and revenue targets

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
- Technical / functional expertise_
- 5+ year of experience with leading and closing performance marketing sales to advertisers
- Affiliate sales experience could be an advantage
- Knowledge of e-commerce and Online Marketing
- Proven record of success in a consultative selling environment
- Proven record of generating new revenue and exceeding sales quota
- Excellent negotiation and closing skills
- Proven knowledge of CRM systems and Microsoft product suite

- Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
- Highly organised, self-motivated, good time-management, able to prioritise
- Creative storyteller with the ability to utilize data to quantify opportunities and influence decision makers.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven
- Strong customer services skills: Negotiation, diplomacy, able to translate client requirements into technical specifications
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Confident interpersonal skills
- Proof that you can set and surpass KPI targets
- Inquisitive approach to continuously learning on the job
