Rethinking Recycling Senior Associate

**ORGANIZATION AND PROGRAM PROFILE**
- **Strategy**: Support the development of our Brazil entry strategy, especially in terms of identifying the site of our first project in the country; this will include conducting qualitative and quantitative assessment of cities in terms of waste management and other indicators, improve and coordinate the selection process for cities, support the relationship with cities throughout the selection process and contribute to the recommendation of the site based on scorecards or other analysis.
- **Partnership management**: Assess the recycling landscape in Brazil in search of potential partners to collaborate on a first project; this will include identifying and developing strategic relationships with potential partners, visits to partners' sites, understanding of strengths and fit with Delterra's program, and setting-up collaboration agreement and governance model for the partnership.
- **Project management**:Support the implementation of our strategy in Brazil, including tracking the workplan of Delterra and potential partners, and supporting the monitoring and reporting on the progress to internal and external stakeholders.
- **Help build our young but fast-growing organization**: Support our local operations and programs in identifying, designing and implementing new systems and processes, both from an external program delivery perspective, and from an internal administrative perspective.
The Senior Associate will report to the Brazil Program Manager. As we are a young and rapidly growing non-profit, there will be opportunities to grow within the organization as we grow our programs in the country.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- 4+ years of work experience in management consulting or related fields of business
- Demonstrated aptitude in conceptual and analytical problem solving
- Experience in managing relations with a variety of stakeholders from the public and private sector, including other recycling organizations, potential funders, and city officials
- Solutions-oriented and pragmatic mindset with the ability to remain positive in the face of setbacks and unexpected challenges
- Demonstrated aptitude to coordinate work delivery within a team and align multiple stakeholders outside core team towards a common ambition
- Native or professional fluency in Portuguese and English (both written and spoken)
- Degree in business, engineering, or related fields
- Work experience in consulting or project management, including start-ups
- Expertise in sustainability topics (e.g., waste management, circular economy, corporate social responsibility, economic development) and/or related industries (e.g., fast-moving consumer goods, manufacturing, municipal services/utilities)
- Work experience with community leaders or public sector
- Passion for making change happen in the environmental and/or waste space.
