**Minimum qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, Javascript).
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a supervision/team leadership role.
- Ability to communicate in English fluently.

**Preferred qualifications**:

- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience in a technical leadership position.

With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.

In this role, you will manage a team from its inception and be part of a collaborative group of engineers, product managers, and security and privacy experts who work together to protect and secure users and their data, whether that means combating cyber threats, building safe technologies that unlock society's full potential, or developing responsible technology policies.

**Responsibilities**:

- Build and manage a local team, while also providing technical guidance, strategy, and goals to the team in the wider security and privacy context.
- Cultivate a collaborative, inclusive, and psychologically safe environment where team members can thrive and contribute their work.
- Support the professional growth of all team members by ensuring career alignment with priorities.
- Form strong partnerships across Google, aligning the team's work with the organization's overall strategic goals.
