Sr Vendor Manager - Category Growth

Amazon is seeking a skilled vendor manager to drive category growth by adding selection, analyzing business data, and negotiating terms.

The ideal candidate will report to the head of vendor management and develop relationships with key vendors and partners. This role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to analyze and communicate complex terms and margin structures.

The successful candidate will increase product category sales by driving store marketing promotions, negotiating partnerships to improve selection, and reacting to industry-related economic trends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Relies on specialized teams for customer and category information and insights.
  • Owns vendor relationships with a focus on top vendors that drive most sales.
  • Represents customer and business needs with central teams, projects, and initiatives.

A day in the life involves owning the end-to-end subcategories or vendor groups, including the entire P&L from topline to free cash flow.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL.
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions.
  • Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration.
  • Experience with business analysis and P&L management.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional/military experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience in account management, project management, program management, or buying.
