Job Overview

The Stockroom Assistant is a key position in our retail team, responsible for receiving, unpacking and preparing merchandise for the sales floor. They are also accountable for maintaining organization, cleanliness, and inventory control within the stockroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Merchandise Management: Receive shipments, check against orders, and report discrepancies to management.
  • Stockroom Maintenance: Ensure stockroom organization, cleanliness, and inventory accuracy at all times.
  • Sales Floor Support: Replenish stock as needed, maintain visual displays, and ensure the sales floor appears well-stocked and visually appealing.
  • Operations: Participate in daily operations, including but not limited to transfers, returns, and damages.
Customer Experience
  • First Impressions: Create a positive first impression by adhering to dress code standards.
  • Store Standards: Maintain a sparkling clean and organized environment on the sales floor and in the stockroom.
Inventory Control
  • Shipment Management: Notify management of any shipment discrepancies or missed markdowns.
  • Merchandise Handling: Handle merchandise with care, folding, steaming, and hanging items as necessary.
  • Stock Organization: Bring new goods to the sales floor, replenishing stock from the stockroom as needed.
  • Operations: Execute transfers, manage returns, handle customer chargebacks, and maintain stockroom cleanliness.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Previous retail experience preferred, especially in stockroom environments.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with peers and management to achieve common goals.
  • Flexible Schedule: Willingness to adapt to changing schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to walk, reach, bend, lift heavy objects, and stand for extended periods.
