Position Overview

Gilead Sciences is a leading biopharmaceutical organization dedicated to the discovery, development, and commercialization of innovative therapies addressing significant medical needs. Oncology represents a critical area for our future expansion.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced marketing professional to take on the role of Product Manager - Oncology within our Brazilian operations. This newly established position will be located in São Paulo and will report directly to the Business Unit Director.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in formulating an integrated marketing strategy and executing a comprehensive action plan to facilitate the introduction of new oncology products into the Brazilian marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and adapt the local product strategy based on global insights while incorporating feedback from the market and key stakeholders. Lead the creation and execution of an integrated action plan aligned with brand strategy, adhering to budgetary constraints and timelines. This includes spearheading innovative Multi-Channel Marketing initiatives, particularly in the digital space, while monitoring performance metrics for evaluation. Exhibit leadership excellence in project management, effectively juggling multiple projects and priorities, and collaborating closely with external agencies. Participate as a member of the Oncology Brand Team to foster broader cross-functional initiatives in alignment with brand strategy. Collaborate with internal teams from medical, access, commercial excellence, external affairs, and field operations to ensure consistent alignment in crafting strategies and innovative initiatives that distinguish Gilead in the oncology sector. Cultivate strong working relationships and engagement plans with Medical Oncologists and other key stakeholders (including Medical Societies, large healthcare groups, payers, pharmacists, and nurses) to enhance Gilead's presence in the oncology market. Continuously assess the market landscape and leverage research and analytics to provide insights that optimize marketing strategies and tactics. Regularly evaluate product and team performance metrics and gather feedback from stakeholders to refine strategies and communication plans as necessary. Maintain close collaboration with the regional sales manager to stay informed about market dynamics and account needs, addressing them effectively. Mentor and guide internal trainees and/or analysts, if applicable, to support marketing initiatives. Collaborate with global teams and other countries to share local initiatives and contribute to insights and project development. Ensure all marketing activities comply with Gilead's Code of Practice and local market regulations. Be prepared for national and international business travel, which may account for 30-40% of work time.

Knowledge and Skills Required

Proven expertise in developing and executing successful marketing plans, managing budgets, and tracking campaign progress. Strong strategic thinking capabilities with a track record of formulating and implementing effective strategies. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams. Established network of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the oncology field. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify complex issues and develop cross-functional solutions. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate effective interactions. Advanced organizational skills, with a focus on completing tasks and assignments efficiently. Understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and their implications for marketing material development.

Education and Experience Requirements

Significant marketing experience in the specialty care market, particularly in oncology, is essential, with a focus on Breast Cancer preferred but not limited to. A strong background in field roles, such as pharmaceutical sales, is advantageous. Familiarity with the oncology landscape in Brazil, particularly within the private sector. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required. Experience in digital marketing, particularly with oncologists, is preferred. Fluency in English and Portuguese, both written and spoken, is mandatory.
