Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and excellent problem-solving skills.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency and optimization of manufacturing processes. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, implementing production strategies, and leveraging engineering expertise to enhance overall production performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret specifications and convert requirements into final designs
  • Draw, organize, and document existing parts
  • Build and maintain part, drawing, and assembly libraries
  • Support sales and applications with quoting special valve components and assemblies
  • Create part and/or installation drawings to meet customer specifications
  • Generate BOM's, parts lists, and user manuals
  • Maintain data within ERP system
  • Evaluate products and collect performance data through onsite testing
  • Work closely with other departments on design for manufacturing
  • Assist with continuous improvement projects for the manufacturing facility
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of SolidWorks experience (SolidWorks PDM preferred)
  • Experience building design tables and component libraries is an asset
  • A general understanding of manufacturing processes (casting, machining, welding, etc.)
  • Ability to learn and work within company's ERP system
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with various drafting standards
  • Must have a basic understanding of material properties
  • Demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and a willingness to help others

This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
