Backend Engineer Role

This role is focused on building scalable systems and delivering efficient code as a member of Uber's development center in LATAM.

The Software Engineers at Uber have an impact across various business and technology decisions spanning projects and locations. They are passionate and pragmatic technologists who design systems while executing on ambitious projects.

As a Backend Engineer, you will contribute to building and maintaining backend services and solutions to support user-facing products, downstream services, or infrastructure tools and platforms used across Uber.

Our team is responsible for creating the end-to-end shopping experience that enables customers to discover and shop for merchants and items they love. This role involves participating in on-call rotations and following best practices to troubleshoot production incidents.

  • Required skills include knowledge of data structures, algorithms, programming languages, and associated frameworks such as C, C++, Java, Python, Golang.
  • Advanced English proficiency and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field completed between 2024 and 2025 are also necessary qualifications.

  • Basic qualifications:
